1963-79 Corvette 30 spline Inner Axle
Dragvette has stepped up to the plate and developed our own 30 spline inner axle. This would allow us to continue to supply our customers with our "Racers Rear End". We chose to use a made in the USA steel "Aircraft quality Hy Tuf" it is used for aircraft landing gear. It is absolutely the strongest material on the planet for sustaining shock. We then chose USA craftsmen that take pride in there work to manufacture our inner axle here in the USA.
We also took this opportunity to make some improvements. Our flange is .410 thick compared to .290 that makes ours about 30% heavier. We did this because we have witnessed a couple of flanges that had been bent because of a half shaft failure. We have also come across a few of the threaded holes stripped because there are fewer threads in a narrower flange. The biggest difference is the Dragvette inner axle is hardened RC 48 from end to end. Tom's is hardened on the needle bearing surface only and soft on the rest of the inner axle. These are great improvements over Tom's already good product.
If you pumped up your horse power. The stock 17 spline side yoke is to weak for the big horsepower engines. Some Corvettes came from the factory with a paltry 190 HP motor. Add 200 plus horse power and bam instant rear end failure. These will fit in any aftermarket Corvette 30 spline application and of course our "Racers Rear End" comes equipped with only the best parts. These are stronger and tougher than any other axles on the market. Custom machine work required to fit into stock Corvette rear ends. Drive flange not included.
