Dragvette develops an unbreakable outer axle
We have developed a rear end that sets a new industry standard with a two year 100% replacement guarantee. We have now designed the unbreakable outer axle. You read it correctly. We offer a life time replacement outer axle for the original customer. We will be offering this bullet proof axle for our customers so they will have an axle that can back up the Racers Rear End we developed. "One and Done" is our mantra. We love working on Corvettes and making them better than the day they rolled off the assembly line.
While the rear suspension remained basically unchanged from 1963-1979, the 427 big block with 425 horse power and 415 foot pounds of torque was the highest rated engine GM put in those Corvettes. The 63-64 rear ends were upgraded with a new posi-traction. The 1967 rear differential case saw a couple of subtler changes, these were not enough to handle the very common 500 HP or the 1000 HP that is not uncommon for the current Corvette owner.
What does the OEM hub assembly imply? It implies that should your wheel bearings ever go out you can replace the hub assembly just like the new Corvettes and all modern cars. This is rear hub assembly from the new Corvettes so you know it will stand up to all the power and abuse you can throw at it.
This is a list of features we incorporated in our new products.
1. We use a Van Steel trailing arm for the foundation. These run about $500.00 a pair.
A. We weld a new mounting fork to the trailing arm for the original strut bar and shock mount.
B. The bumper pad is changed so a 6-Link will bolt directly onto the trailing arm for future suspension upgrades.
2. We use an OEM Corvette bearing hub assembly.
A. This has bigger and stronger 12 MM studs. They are larger than the original 7/16" studs.
B. Use your original Corvette rotor, just drill the stud holes out to 1/2" for a perfect fit.
C. Your original aluminum Corvette rim fits perfectly after we provide you with the correct 12 MM lug nuts. D. Your original brake caliper bolts on, along with the stock brake hose.
E. If your wheel bearing should ever fail it is readily available.
3. Racevette uses a premier USA axle manufacturer who provides us with a top quality axle.
A. We designed this part to slip in for easy bearing replacement if ever needed.
B. It bolts to the existing Corvette drive flange.
C. You utilize your original half shafts.
4. Please be aware there is no provision for a parking brake on this product.
