Steel Rear Spring Shortened 1963 to 77 or the 78-79
Did you install some 2" offset trailing arms? Only to discover the rear mono spring on your Corvette wants to dig into those new monster tires or worse they don't clear the rear spring at all! Here at Dragvette we encountered the same problem. That is why we offer a shortened version of the rear spring. The original stock Corvette rear spring has 9 leafs with a 198 lb per inch of compression rate its ok if you just cruise. The F41 spring has 7 leafs and rated at 309 lbs per inch. The Daytona option has a 396 lb per inch spring rate. Our spring is 1" shorter on each end so you can utilize all of the 2" offset you have with your new trailing arms. Our shortened version has a slightly higher spring rate of 360 lbs per inch. We find this rate to be great for the track and still good for the street. This spring is 2 1/4" wide. If you want to mount this spring on a 1978 or 1979 Corvette will need to order it with a spacer to take up the 1/4" extra space on your rear cover. We also have the stock length spring in a 360 lb per inch rate.
