The bearing cap on the ring gear side of the differential is not up to the job of keeping the pinion and ring gear in proper alignment during hard launches. Every rear end I have taken apart shows signs of the cap walking (moving around). Use these heavy duty caps to stop that destructive movement. Order a heavy duty cap with 7/16" shcs. Or bette yet a heavy duty cap with 1/2" shcs. (1/2" requires drilling and tapping the casting).
