Dragvette 6-Link Suspension for 1963-82 Corvettes
The Dragvette 6-Link was developed first for traction. Turns out it is not only great for the drag strip it has been proven to be the winning edge for SCCA racers, Road racers and awesome for the Steet wether it's crusing around town or spirited driving on a winding country road.
Secondly it was developed for stress relief to the vunerable Eaton differential. The Corvette suspension loads up the differential when it accelarates from a standing or moving position. The half shafts push in toward the differential when the chassis is loaded. That's the familar squat the Corvette does when it takes off. The upper bar of the 6-Link prevents the half shafts from pushing into the differential by supporting
the trailing arm. The upper arm takes the abuse and allows the differential to do one function that is to rotate the rear wheels, it no longer supports the weight of the chassis on the differential. The elimination of this abusive force allows the differential to handle higher horse power than it previously could with out the resulting breakage,
Thirdly while making the Corvette safer by reducing the possiblity of differential or half shaft failure. We incorporated two half shaft safety loops that retain the half shaft in case of failure. This has been a feature my customers have put to the test.
A question I get is how much horse power can the Dragvette 6-Link handle. The answer is no engine has exceded the structure of the 6-Link it resides in Corvette's operarted by "Horsepower Depot.com". They use our custom Truetrac rear ends, trailing arms, and yes the 6-Link, plus our chrome moly half shafts in thier 850 HP at the rear wheel rides. Tauting 9.10 second quarter mile runs at 148 mph. Check them out on Youtube they are great to watch.
